Healthesystems shares clinical insights at NWCDC 2015 via featured speakers, RxInformer journal

TAMPA, Fla. (November 9, 2015) -- Healthesystems is a proud gold sponsor at this year’s National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference (NWCDC) held in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 11-13. The company, which develops innovative solutions for managing the quality and cost of care in workers’ compensation, will feature speakers in two educational sessions this year. Healthesystems will also debut the new Fall 2015 issue of their industry-leading publication, RxInformer journal.

“Clinical excellence plays a large role in what sets Healthesystems apart,” said Dr. Robert Goldberg, Healthesystems Chief Medical Officer. “We’re excited about the impact that our programs are having on patient care and for our customers. NWCDC is the perfect opportunity to share our experience.”

Featured Speakers

On Wednesday afternoon of the conference, Dr. Goldberg will offer his perspective as an occupational medicine thought leader during Risk Scenarios Live! Mending Physical Medicine Failures. The session, which is produced by Risk & Insurance®, examines the impact of poor physical medicine practices on claims outcomes, and guidance for improving injured worker care. The topic is especially timely for Healthesystems, as the company introduced its new physical medicine program earlier this year.

On Thursday, Vice President of Clinical Services Dr. Silvia Sacalis will co-present the session Medical Management Strategies for Improved Claims Results, which demonstrates how a comprehensive view of an injured worker’s medical history can better guide treatment decisions.

RxInformer Fall 2015

Since its inaugural issue in 2010, RxInformer has become a trusted source for information on trending and influential topics in workers’ compensation.  The publication is just one example of the company’s clinical thought leadership and their forward-thinking approach to unpacking the challenges of managing pharmacy and ancillary medical services. The Fall 2015 issue reflects Healthesystems’ comprehensive approach to patient management. The topics featured pertain to a number of different aspects of managing care in the injured worker, including:

  • New medical innovations impacting workers’ comp
  • Enhanced strategies for managing drug therapy
  • Prospective interventions for managing patient risk
  • Work-focused cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Active treatment modalities, including physical therapy and exercise programs
