Ralph Kendall

Ralph Kendall, PharmD, Vice President of Clinical Services
Dr. Kendall has been instrumental in the development and implementation of clinical interventions and the application of managed care principles to the workers’ compensation health care segment for the past 20 years. His clinical teams have been highly influential in the development of the first workers’ compensation specific formularies and drug plans ensuring that covered medications are appropriate and related to the care of workers’ compensation beneficiaries. More recently he has assisted in the development and implemention of a software tool used to identify drug use trends and injured workers’ who have a drug regimen placing them at-risk for use of excessive health care resources due to medication misadventure. Through direct contact with prescribers, the interventions of his teams have created better outcomes at significantly lowered costs for the clients they served.
Ralph has extensive experience in academic hospital pharmacy administration, retail and mail order pharmacy, PBM management, and as a consultant in the areas of pharmacy productivity assessment, development of clinical programs, and systems analysis. Ralph has established and directed 5 regional drug information centers during his career. He is a frequent speaker to nurses and nurse case managers concerning contemporary medication management of chronic pain conditions. In addition he has served as an elected officer of various state and national professional organizations, and has represented pharmacy before governmental committees and legislative review boards. He is recognized as a professional leader in matters of drug utilization review and managed care pharmacy.
More recently, Ralph has accepted a prestigious invitation to become a member of the Work Loss Data Institute’s (WLDI) Official Disability Guidelines (ODG) Editorial Advisory Board.
Ralph received both his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. He completed an accredited residency program in Clinical Pharmacy Administration.
